Key West Cruises | Fun Things To Do In Key West

Bus From Miami To Key West

The most famous spot here is the Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary. You can enjoy some great dive experiences in shallow waters here. You can also take a dive to the wreck of a freighter called the Adolphus Busch Senior. Alternatively, you can rent a boat and cruise along the numerous deserted islands nearby. You should also visit the National Key Deer Refuge where you can meet deer up close. The Keys can be a great way to fill the time as you make your way to Key West from Miami. Rent a car or hop on a bus to experience these places.

Even if you are not planning to visit one of the two cities, you should take the time out to witness the magnificent engineering marvel of the Overseas Highway. The ride is incredibly beautiful and there are many scenes to enjoy during the trip. The bridge is just as historical as it is beautiful. Originally, there was a railroad that connected the Keys instead of a highway. The Overseas Railroad was built in 1929 but was destroyed by a hurricane in 1935. Instead of rebuilding the railroad, it was decided to build a highway. Parts of the ancient railroad are still visible from the highway and the ruins are worth a visit. As the highway connects the Florida Keys together, you can easily take a detour and visit each of them in turn. They are worth the visit as each Key has something different to offer. Wildlife encounters, swimming with dolphins, diving, visits to coral reefs and many breathtaking sights are some of the experiences you find in these places. Wynwood Walls, Miami

This is another spot to visit if you are interested in snorkeling or diving. From Tavernier, you will be able to access the Conch Reef. You can try out drift diving here. In fact, this is possibly the best spot to undertake drift diving in the Keys. In a drift dive, you will be descending at one particular point and catch the current. You will drift down the current and resurface at another point. It can be a great way to experience the beauty of the reef. .Apart from Conch Reef, there are other smaller but equally interesting reefs in the vicinity. The names of these reefs are often humorous with some examples being Alligator, Chickens and Pickles. Islamorada
